Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Begin your recovery today
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) combines medication and counseling to help people stop using opioid pain medications and/or heroin. MAT uses a medication called buprenorphine or Suboxone® that reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms. If you think MAT may be a good choice for you, call (704) 316-6561 today to schedule your first appointment.
If you’re at least 18 years old, currently use opioid pain medications (medications like Vicodin®, Percocet®, Oxycodone, OxyContin®, or Hydrocodone) or heroin, and would like to stop, MAT might be helpful.
MAT doesn’t help people who want to stop drinking or stop using non-opioid drugs like tobacco, cocaine, methamphetamines, or marijuana. However, we still encourage you to contact CCHC and make an appointment with one of our counselors. Our counselors can also help you stop using other substances, not just opioids.
CCHC accepts most private insurances, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. If you don’t have health insurance, we also have a sliding scale fee program to help you pay for treatment and medication. The cost will depend on your household income. Call us at (704) 316-6561 for more information about your specific cost.
Yes. Pregnant women may need a different medication, but they can still participate in the MAT program. We use the medication that the American College of Obstetricians recommends for pregnant mothers who are in an MAT program. Pregnant women in an MAT program have better outcomes that women who continue to abuse opioids during their pregnancy.
It depends on how long you have been using drugs and the amount of drugs you have been using. Usually it takes months, but some people take longer or shorter amounts of time.
If you’re interested in starting MAT, call (704) 316-6561. We will help you schedule an appointment with one of our counselors to decide whether MAT is a good fit for you.
