A Reflection on 2020
We at Charlotte Community Health Clinic wish to take a moment to reflect upon the past year, which will forever be remembered as a period of great loss, hardship, and uncertainty as we battled the COVID-19 pandemic. In the middle of the chaos, it wasn’t always possible to recognize moments of great joy or success. However, as we observe the anniversary of COVID and look ahead to a more positive era, we wish to highlight some of the accomplishments made by our spectacular CCHC team with the support of community partners and friends like you.
Since the pandemic hit, CCHC has:
- Served 4,895 unique patients.
- Performed 14,524 medical, dental, and behavioral health visits, of which 8,493 were telehealth visits.
- Ensured patients maintain access to care by integrating telehealth virtual visits, providing outreach to vulnerable patients, and developing chronic care / immunization drive-thru clinics. CCHC received national recognition from HRSA for our efforts.
- Provided 1,756 COVID-19 tests at our clinics and community partner sites. These tests, with no out-of-pocket cost to the patient, have been vital in controlling the spread.
- Significantly increased the number of behavioral health (counseling and substance abuse) visits by converting to telehealth.
- Administered 2,850 COVID vaccines, with 1,353 individuals receiving both doses and reaching full immunity. CCHC has successfully partnered with other community organizations, like the Vietnamese Association of Charlotte, to target communities that face significant barriers to receiving the vaccine.
We are incredibly proud of our staff for such incredible effort, dedication, and creativity during the past year to serving our patients. Most importantly, we are deeply thankful for the support, generosity, and kindness of our partners, donors, and patients.
We look forward to another year of carrying out our mission to provide affordable, accessible, and high-quality health care to all.
In deepest appreciation,
